school for undergrad

I'm a NRI in europe who would love getting into a target school, however I heard that the competition for Ivy/Wharton can be a bitch especially since they only want to have the best foreigners. Which schools are somewhat getting into and target for BB FO, if you're foreign? I already have NYU and USC on my list what about Michigan and Uchicago?

all are target. but with that said, i think you would find it useful to be near where you want to end up just for international students, After filtering out jobs that don't do sponsorships, they'd find most jobs in big towns with big names, and Americans want them too

Well I would love to be in PE (Tech&Media) however I know that one need to have a certain amount of experience for breaking into, so I guess IB (M&A) at least for the beginning, and I heard that all BB's will sponsor you.

There are plenty of rankings of so called target schools, however the most of them vary tremendously, may one be able to point out a legit one? Also what about the international prestige of schools like NYU, will they get invited to interviews to London/FFM/Zurich? (if you have a Visa and are natives) And what about Asia and the Pacific Region (India, Singapore, Australia)? I'm just pretty thinking if the investment would be worth it, I could get into the biggest target in my country which would leave me with only $30k debt (WHU), and good chances breaking into London. However beside in London and DACh, my school is pretty much unheard of. And I wonder if it will be a huge problem in Asia/Pacific. What do you think about canadian schools, I'm pretty sure that I could get into Ivey/Schulich/McGill/UoT.

a good takeaway from linear optimizaiton:

you have most choices available when you only keep the most important factors you need. If you ask too much restraints, you will find yourself in a dead corner

You will not and cannot cover all bases with your choices. Even HYPS might not help you with it. Do you think HYPS can go to UK? Sure. But Would they stand a disadvantage to Oxford Cambridge and maybe UCL and Warwick? Very likely. Similarly, if someone wants to work in Singapore, NUS or HKUST will be closer and advantageous.

The rest of the choices are yours. I'm sure you can rack up offers if you already took UMich and Chicago, which has quite low admit rates already. Don't look like a troll.

Well I don't really know where I want to end up, all I know is that I'm in love with Tech and would love to do business, since I love to interact with people and in my opinion, business is one of the most exciting things to do it somehow reminds of poker so banking only seems natural to me.

While I would get into UCL for IMB, I can't believe that HYPS would be really having a disadvantage against UCL/Warwick. Where did you get your information from?

just major in what you want. you can always change it in the States (i know some countries make it difficult but it's not so in the US). You can also double major.

the next one is common sense---it's the same reason that makes NYU Stern a top afterthought to ivy league and schools on the same caliber (berkeley stanford uMich, uChicago, MIT, etc)
