Semi-Target School

hey guys, Im currently a sophomore at Bentley University and I have recently wanted to become a banker. I was wondering everyone's opinion on Bentley University, whether it could be considered a semi target school for some banks, or do you recommend I transfer. And if you never heard of the school that would be good to know also.

Thanks

From my understanding Bentley University is ranked 6th for career services. More and more Bentley students are making their ways into BB firms on Wall Street. Of course this does not necessarily make Bentley a target school for BB, however it is possible to get a starting job at a BB or at least a well-known Boutique/Middle Market.

Yeah I was just curious how it compares to other semi-target schools/target schools, because Im planning on trying to get a BB internship next summer during my junior year and was wondering what my chances were and how I can improve my chances?

As a current junior at Bentley, I don't think it could be considered a semi-target. We do not have any conventional OCR for FO positions, and banks really only come here for BO/MO type roles. That being said, it is completely possible to get into a BB from Bentley. As someone had said, career services is absolutely superb, and actually were able to leverage a sort of "OCR" this year--they leveraged alumni, and we had alumni from GS, RBC, Barclays, and JPM either come to campus or set up phone interviews with current students (albeit the top students on campus). After all was said and done I personally know of around 5-8 juniors heading to BB's this summer for FO positions (including myself), as well as a couple more heading to elite boutiques for IB. Will we send as many people every year as the normal targets/semi-targets? No, absolutely not. But if you want to get there, you absolutely can.

pm me for anything else youd like to know
