Stern MBA deadlines

Stern has 4 deadlines. I've always been under the impression that 1st and 2nd rounds have around the same level of competititon, 3rd round is where it becomes a crap shoot, especially for a middle of the road type of applicant.

How are we to interpret Sterns deadline structure? Are Rounds 1 and 2 = Round 1, Round 3 = Round 2, and Round 4 = Round 3?

Anybody have some insight on the competitiveness of each round?

Thanks,

-pacman

You are correct, one and two are where you want to apply. Unless you are a rock star or can't wait, I'd avoid any later. Wait out the year if you have to. Being a re-applicant isn't a great spot to be in.

Sterns round 2 is Nov. 15th while Columbia's (or any other school with 3 rounds) round 2 is Jan. 6th......that's a difference of 6 weeks. I'm thinking that Stern's round 2 is not equavalent to Columbia's round 2...

I'm just trying to figure this out so I know when I need to apply to Stern. It's round 2 or bust for me.....no way in hell will I screw up my chances by applying round 3.
