Target School Sophomore - should I give up recruitment

Dear Monkeys,

As ridiculous as the title sounds, I am seriously considering it.

Background -- target school, one PWM internship, one accounting internship.

I came into college being a STEM major, so wasn't part of any finance club, and wasn't aware that recruitment shifted up by 4 FXXking MONTH this cycle and DIDN'T KNOW I should had started networking SPRING SEMESTER OF FRESHMAN YEAR.

I have sent out 300+ emails since september, and my response rate is 3.8%???!!! WTF

I only had 3 chats with IBD folks

With EB closing application november and BB closing december, seriously considering about taking a gap semester and recruiting next cycle.

Should I even continue networking, since then I have to explain why I took a gap semester...what I did.....

I am so lost, pls help, any advice would do.

My email template is like this,

XXXX,

greeting.....found your profile through alumni at firm....would love to learn about your experience at firm

would you have time....ask to chat

Also should I attach my resume? I've been attaching it and response is shit
