U Chicago Booth MiF

U Chicago just launched their MSc Finance with the first cohort starting in 2024. Anyone has any information about it besides what’s on the website? Thanks. Here’s the link: https://www.chicagobooth.edu/master-in-finance

Will be hard to tell until a class or two cycles through the program.

Until then I would definitely not go at sticker price but would think about it if I got a scholarship and didn’t have many job prospects after graduating undergrad.

Hopefully they build strong relationships with the MBA alumni and employers and can offer some type of on cycle recruiting but that seems unlikely.

i'm surprised they're launching both their mim & mif next year. anyways, i mean you can't get much better for brand. it's arguably a better program since its 3 semesters so unlike the several 10 month mim/mif programs offered which throw you right into full time recruiting, this wont. but also landing a summer offer would depend on the individual. anyways i'll apply for fall 2025 start, hoping i get in.

On one hand it’s a new program so we never know how the placement will be but on the other hand it’s Chicago Booth and it’s Finance. Maybe the brand name and recognition in finance will outweigh the cons of it being a new program for recruiters. Also some of the electives are taken with the MBAs which could be good. I predict it will be a target just like MIT and Vanderbilt in a few years, but no idea about the first cohorts
