UMich Econ vs. Texas McCombs
Which is better, assuming Ross isn’t an option? This is obviously in terms of placement, network, prestige, etc.

Assuming cost isn’t an issue/OOS at both, go to Texas. McCombs is a target for all IBD or other FO banking jobs in Houston, where many major banks are represented, as well as the few buy side opportunities for undergrads in Dallas and Austin. In addition, McCombs students do very well in MBB recruiting.
Plus, Austin is just a way cooler city than Ann Arbor.
McCombs has direct pipelines to NYC and IB through TUIT, USIT, WSFM, etc. You just have to grind to get in them but you’re in a great position if you get in. BHP kids hardly get a leg up; they’re just the ones that grind for it lol. I honestly don’t think McCombs is that competitive. Avg SAT of 1400 at UT vs 1500 at Ross.
Not to mention the weather.
