Undergrad Schools: Wharton vs. London School of Economics vs. Richard Ivey
I'm thinking of transferring to one of these schools for the remaining 2 years of my undergrad. They're obviously all great schools with their own strengths and would open alot of doors for me.
LSE would be the toughest to get into but I would enjoy spending 2 years in London and I'm really interested in their Finance/Economics course offerings. Wharton offers arguably the best undergraduate education in business and has the strongest alumni network. Richard Ivey also has a great undergrad business program and a strong alumni network. Ivey would also be the easiest option for me since I'm Canadian and am almost sure I would be able to get admission for this Fall.
I'm mainly interested in investment banking opportunities after I graduate. Ideally in M&A since it would allow me to gain the financial modelling experience required to move over to buy-side private equity firms. I'm also interested in a top 5 MBA program after gaining a few years of work experience.
Any feedback on these three schools would be appreciated!
I would stay in North America. There is a litany of very strong LSE grads struggling to get in to banking. And I'm making the assumption that you don't speak a European language which is another road block to get in to M&A in London
I'd go with Wharton if possible. LSE is a great school but Oreos correctly points out that it's not a guarantee for a job in IB and then going back to Canada/USA will be all kinds of complicated with interviews while you're still in London, etc.
