Universities
Hello Guys, the last time I asked a question here was about what are the possible unis I can apply for now I have received offers from University of Nottingham MSc International business, MSc Accounting and Finance from Lancaster and Sheffield and waiting for York's reply. So I don't get york which one out of the above should I pick. Should I pick Nottingham because it is a strong semi target?
Based on the most helpful WSO content, Nottingham is indeed considered a strong semi-target for finance roles, which could give you an edge in recruiting compared to Lancaster and Sheffield. However, your decision should also factor in the specific program's reputation, your career goals, and the industries you aim to enter.
For MSc International Business at Nottingham: - It aligns well if you're looking for broader international exposure and roles in global firms. - Nottingham's semi-target status could help with networking and placement opportunities in finance or consulting.
For MSc Accounting and Finance at Lancaster or Sheffield: - These programs might be more specialized and directly relevant if you're targeting roles in accounting, finance, or investment banking. - Lancaster and Sheffield are not as strong in terms of target/semi-target status compared to Nottingham, but the program's focus could still be valuable depending on your career aspirations.
If York doesn't come through, Nottingham seems like the better choice overall, especially if you're aiming for finance or consulting roles and want the semi-target advantage. However, weigh the program content and your career goals carefully before deciding.

Unless you have an extremely strong personal reason to prefer one of those universities, I'd choose Nottingham for sure.
Of course, it goes without saying that your likelihood of receiving an offer depends enormously what you do at university (I assume you know this, but I feel like I need to add the disclaimer)
