UVA MS in Commerce Interview
Hi,
I just wanted to ask for some advice for the interview coming up with the UVA Ms in Commerce (Finance track) admissions team next week. I've looked through the forum (incl. "How to nail your MSF interview" post, which was very helpful), but just wanted to check if I should look out for any "tricky" questions beyond why MSF, why UVA, career goals? Is there anything else I should research, given my background:
An international student studying in Scotland, majoring in Management. I understand that the program does not accept undergrads from business or business-related backgrounds, but in my optional essay I laid out my Management curriculum in detail. So looks like this wasn't a problem.
-2 summers of internships in a private boutique and a large family office ($11bn AUM), both in London
-some ECs with a few leadership roles
-I always wanted to study at UVA and 2 years ago completed a summer session course there. I've also done a pre-masters course at NYU SPS.
-I want to begin my career in the investment management field as an analyst on the buy-side in the East US, but given the issues with the H1B sponsorship for entry level positions (and UVA's strong placements in consulting) I am more than flexible on that. Is this a good way to answer the question about career goals?
Any advice is appreciated.
