Uva transfer advice

Hello everyone, I recently made a post discussing how I was accepted transfer to Vtech and UVA from Kelley for second year, and I have chosen to attend UVA. Now, as a transfer student, It would be unlikely for me to get into Mcintire unless I fill my entire second year with pre reqs. Is it much harder to break into IB with a math or Econ major than one from Mcintire?

Also, I heard that IB recruitment happens during second year at UVA. To anyone who went to UVA, What could I do my first year at UVA to be a good prospect and offset any disadvantages from being a transfer?
