Villanova Undergrad

I'm a senior deciding on which college to attend, and just saw the (laughable) bloomberg rankings which has Villanova as the #1 ranked undergraduate business school. Clearly this isn't true, but I'm trying to get a pulse on where Villanova should actually be. I know it's possible to break into IB at many schools with a high GPA and networking, but does Villanova have a strong and helpful alumni network in NYC to help you out? How large is the Nova presence on the Street? Thanks!

Villanova is a top 20-25 UG business school. The rankings are clown, but the alumni and placements into finance in NYC are strong.

It would be helpful if you listed your other options.

This. What are your other options? (along with fin aid, debt required, etc.)

I'm between Fordham (full scholarship) and Villanova (full pay) with waitlists at Notre Dame and Boston College (Would attend ND if accepted, not sure about BC) Definitely some pros to Fordham (full ride, NYC), but I love Villanova's community and school spirit, seems like a MUCH better fit for me. Just don't want to end up going to Villanova and paying for worse job opportunities in IB than if I went to Fordham.

I'm no fan of Fordham, but I think the choice is clear when you have to pay full Villanova tuition. It's not a good enough of a school to warrant that price tag. Try transferring after your first year.

Hmm..it's your call. You can do well at Villanova in IB and going to IB from Fordham isn't unheard of either. Especially since you'll be in that area, there's a huge advantage to that. But the price differential is something to consider. There's alot you can't do with that much debt shackled to you. Just make sure you weigh all the factors before you decide.

It's a tough choice, but I would probably go to Fordham. Nova's reputation doesn't justify the difference in price.
