What Successful HBS Candidates Write About In Their MBA Essays - A Statistical Analysis
We recently published a statistical analysis of successful HBS MBA essays. In summary this was the breakdown:

The full analysis is on our website, Beacon.Community/blog
Whelp that image didn't work at all. Sorry! I would delete the post if I knew how...
Maybe this will work?
How is this helpful in any way?
We think it provides some broad guidance on how to approach the essay. For example certain schools explicitly ask for a candidate's short-term goals. This analysis shows that HBS isn't interested in that.
Others ask for details about community involvement and, again, HBS is less interested in that.
Instead HBS wants mostly a narrative description of key professional/personal/academic experiences. The question itself leaves that unclear.
lmao this is in no way actionable or useful
Too broad but I threw you a SB anyway.
When I looked it was like 50% female empowerment, 25% minority empowerment, 5% LGBT empowerment.
Of the 20% remaining, it was 10% save-the-whales, 5% help-Africa
Of the 5% remaining, they were pretty boring essays about work.
