Where should I apply - Chances of getting in?
Hi,
I´m from chile and I´m preparing to apply to a bschool. Here is my profile:
GMAT 700 gpa 2.8 age: 30 work experience: 5 years in a big four. Every year I got promoted, I work in the advisory area. toefl: 105
Somebody told me that with this profile I have a lot of chances to get in a top 10 bschool probably because I´m from latin america. Please gime me some feedback.

I think it might be a little hard at the very top us bs, but it depends more on your career archivements. Nice to see another latin american around here! XD
Do you think that I need to improve my gmat or toefl?
For example for harvard you are encouraged to take the toefl again: http://www.hbs.edu/mba/admissions/internationalapplications.html . It is a matter of prioritizing, first thing is to know why go to bs, then what program to target (i.e. MBA vs eMBA), then you search for the schools, one list for the ones you really wanna get in and another of safe schools, then apply at least to a safe one. You should read about the admissions in the school, and focus on leadership and career progression in the cv, specially as you have some years of experience. Toefl requirements are usually established, GMAT often only helps to not get rejected immediately, the GPA, though important, becomes less relevant the more work experience you have. Career progression is in my view the defining factor on whether you get interviewed or not, but this matters once you make the cut. Essays are up to you, I am pretty sure there should be a guide here in WSO. The other factor you should weight in is in which area you want to work after bs.

You have a strong GMAT score and business schools will look favorable on your demographic, although your GPA is low. Right now, you should focus your time on crafting a few key messages that you would like an MBA admissions team to take away from your application, and then focus your personal essays and letters of recommendation on these points.
Although your GMAT score and work experience are important, do not underestimate the significance of your personal essays and recommendations in your application. This is where your application will stand out.
