Provided you do not get into UVA or NorthWestern, go to UT.
"Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, for knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed, you mark my words, will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA."
Hats off to you man. Your starting to think about this stuff really early. I would rank them in this order:
NW
UT
CM
UVA
Look for something in finance. ANYTHING. Get something that shows you're interested in finance. Shit your not even a freshman. I wouldn't worry about it.

Go to UT, but UVA is a great school that has solid recruiting for IBD, especially at specific banks. I would really start worrying about jobs once you learn how to keep a 3.5+ at whatever school you attend. They are all decent, but you will need to work very hard once you start.
Well I was just wondering about the jobs because a job with some relation to this field would be more beneficial than say working as a waiter for the summer.
Where do you see yourself working in the long term? I know UT recruiting tends to be more regional and most kinds get picked up in Houston/Dallas. If you want to end up in the Northeast, I'd stay clear from the South.
UVA also has a top ranked undergrad b-school, McIntire, that feeds the top banks. But definitely hit at 3.5 if you want to get through applications your 2nd year, let alone a job in banking.

UVA and NW have much stronger alumni networks than UT especially due to their graduate programs at Darden and Kellogg. Otherwise UT.

NW UVA UT CM
Why would any of you put UT over UVA?
UVA is Berkeley quality. UT is is like UIUC - regional at best.
definitely northwestern, followed by UVA
Does anyone here know any UT undergrad people that got into banking or MBB? I don't?
UT- McCombs people definitely get into banking and MBB. They are feeders for Houston offices.
Anyways, its Wharton or bust son.
Ive got some friends from UT in banking and PE (though none @ mega-funds)...def a strong school and if you make it out to NY, a good network
