Will being a transfer cause others to look down on me?
Have transferred from a state school to a top 10 university my junior year. Recently I was talking to a colleague and he mentioned to me that most finance guys will assume that I am not smart as I couldn’t get in to my college of choice straight from highschool. Ik there’s nothing I can rlly do to change my past but is this at all true, and if so, is there a way to hide where I went for my first two years of university?
He sounds like a loser. No one sees your resume / details once you hit the desk. Put your graduation school on your LinkedIn & you’ll be fine.
Yea he kinda came across as insecure. Also, is it possible for me to hide where I went for the first 2 years, so it only shows that I got my degree from the “good” school.
Sure, like on your resume? Just list your graduation school with your graduation month & year. Could even say “Expected May 2025” or something like that. I wouldn’t necessarily lie in-person though - it’s not a bad thing to transfer & people may find it helpful / motivating to hear the ways you changed your situation.
No one cares where you went to college, let alone when exactly you started at said college
