Williams/Amherst/Middlebury College Placement

Rising high school senior interested in a career in finance. Mostly interested in these schools and was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the placement at these schools. Also, any info on specific firms that people tend to go to or on-campus presence would be super helpful.

Thanks for the help!

All of the LACs punch above their weight with placement, and most of the alums I’ve spoken to are more relaxed and easygoing compared to ivy counterparts. Definitely talk more to grads and figure out which LAC is made for you, bc the adcoms have a good feel for what student fits their specific campus. Figure out if you appreciate smaller colleges or large research universities.

Went to a NESCAC school like you listed above.

Every NESCAC schools has a few "core" banks they have relationships with because of large alumni presence (few BBs & a lot of MMs) - my school actually has a great pipeline to Boson-based MM & LMM PE firms as well driven by alumni engagements

As long as you network and have a decent gpa, it should be fairly easy to land a gig in finance
