At the top b-schools, it breaks down as follows:

~20-25% finance (mostly IB) ~20-25% consulting ~20-25% engineering ~20-30% everything else (marketing, life sciences, corporate, nonprofit, military, etc.)

Average years of experience is around 4 years, with the middle 80% roughly 2-7 years experience -- although you'll find that the finance and consulting folks tend to be on the younger side (most usually have 2-4 years experience), and the engineers and "everyone else" being on the older side (most having around 4-6 years experience).

say the acceptance rate is 10% overall, what would be the typical acceptance rate for bankers at a top b-school? is it higher or about the same?
