Can't never did anything

Long time reader, just started to post and get involved with the site. WSO has been a valuable resource throughout college and into post grad life.

I attended a semit-target in the mid Atlantic, studied abroad my junior year and missed out on OCR; I was able to secure a local internship with a small mezz pe firm. Proceeded to intern throughout my senior at a large regional asset manager in operations, while interviewing for FT jobs. Finally received an offer for a BB ops job in one of their regional offices. The next day I received an offer for an investment management internship at a MM in NYC.

Rolled the dice took the internship knowing before I started there would be no offer since the group did not have the budget past the summer. Interviewed throughout the summer at the MM and other shops. Received an offer for a boutique consulting firm and accepted due to pressures from my parents. Spent about 9 months there and really enjoyed the work and the people but always felt something was lacking. Coincidently I ran into a MD I had interviewed with at the MM and he had an opening in his group again. Went in the next week and received the offer the next day. Pulled my manager aside and put in my two weeks with a smile as wide as the Grand Canyon.

Just finished my first month in their real estate banking group and loving every minute. In retrospect its funny how things work out out sometimes, I like to think we can create our own luck through hard work and determination. Good luck too all those out there on the grind, in the words of Maximus Decimus Meridius:

"Three weeks from now I will be harvesting my crops, imagine where you will be and it will be so"
