Thanks WSO - Landed a FO position

Hey guys just want to thank all of you for the help over the past few months. I finally landed a full-time FO position. I started a few weeks ago and I really couldn't have done it without the people on this site (one in particular). I am on a S&T desk with MM bank in NYC and love it so far.

Just for the others still looking and thinking about giving up hope. -Non-Target -3.3 -Various internships, but Ops, some Commercial Banking and Portfolio Solutions (not Management) -And not the best with mental math (for those worried about interviews)

And for those that graduated (I finished May 2010) don't give up AT ALL, cut ties with friends and family if that is what you have to do to focus, they'll understand once you come back. Just be cool, show your personality and don't be afraid of being wrong for technical questions, definitely better than guessing and stumbling through.

If anyone has questions feel free to PM me.

Good look to all the prospective monkeys!!!

fully_amazing cut ties with friends and family if that is what you have to do to focus, they'll understand once you come back.

Anyone else's parents think they are mentally unsound due to obsession with IB?

Congrats but you don't have to cut ties to family and friends big guy, you aren't Jason Bourne (no matter what the guys at your new firm told you)

If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses - Henry Ford

haha I don't mean cut ties like that, but i spent more time focusing on finding a job and when I say family I mean extended family (i have a big extended family) and people like that. and my family (my household) completely understood, plus they don't want to have to worry about my loans haha.

Thanks again guys

Congrats!

fully_amazingThanks gekko! I sent you a pm a while back, i know you must get swamped but let me know when you have some time to talk.

I apologize. I just filtered my inbox and found your message. If I don't respond by Friday send me another PM. I'm going to be very busy the next two days.
