Best S&T desk for someone interested in quant/research?

Incoming SA at JPMorgan, but I'm really more interested in the quant research or prop trading route in the future. What kind of desks are 1) a good fit for someone with a math/CS/quantitative background or are 2) doing the best currently and would set me up well?

From what I hear rates and credit is good, but I don't know much about the actual characteristics/vibes of these desks.
