Breaking into sales from engineering
Background: I did electrical engineering at a state school (but not the flagship), got a 4.0, and have a good engineering job. The starting salary's nice, but it seems like there's just not much room for advancement. I've looked at IBD, trading, and sales, and sales seems to be the most appealing option., with more job security than trading and somewhat better hours than IBD.
I know this has been done a lot for IBD and trading, but I couldn't find anything for sales specifically. How should I go about looking for a sales job? How should I network? What kind of information do I need to brush up on.
Thanks in advance.
