Cargill vs MFE
Hi, I made a late career switch from health to finance and kind of missed recruiting for a lot of firms I have an offer from Cargill, but is it worth forgoing to go to a top MFE school? I am interested in doing credit trading and other fixed income products. Also currently a senior at semi-target
This is an easy decision. A job at Cargill takes you away from a credit trading job, and MFE takes you closer to a credit trading job.
What division at Cargill do you have an offer from?
commodities, no specific product yet
If you're dead set on credit trading, then I would probably go to the MFE. The downside here is that you're going to have to recruit again, and if your focus is too narrow you might end up disappointed. That being said I think commodity trading at a trading house is great opportunity.
personally, I rather do MFE because I feel like once you get that degree, age becomes slightly irrelevant? The problem with this industry is that age-ism is a huge factor and having an MFE will give you that much leverage to keep you in the game with job stability.
