Columbia MS Financial Economics to quant trading

Hi everyone,

I have received the offer from Columbia MS in Financial Economics. I am an international student and have been working in my own country for several years in a hedge fund as a quantitative trader. It seems that this program's career service is not that good compared to CMU MSCF or UC Berkeley MFE. So how hard would it be to go to IB to do some quant-related front-office work or go to a top buyside quant fund as a quant researcher/trader with this program? Is it the target program for these places? How large is the difference between a Financial Economics program VS Financial Engineering program?

Thank you very much!
