Does derivatives trading at an Oil & Gas company count as Front Office?

I am from a European country, and I would like to break into prop Trading in the US. Since I am European, I need at least a Masters degree from the US In order to get into a good Masters in Finance program, I need Front office experience. Poverty European country, literally doesn't have Front Office investment banking jobs. Another Option is Trading at a Commodity company HQ, but does that count as Front Office? I also did Business Development (M&A) analysis internship at this company but I don't belive thats Front Office.
