European Equities Trading

Does anyone here know anything about European equities. While I am comfortable with the US Economy Europe I know absolutely nothing about. Anyone know any sites that I could browse to learn more. I am interested in the legalities, government oversight etc. Thanks.

As far as rules and regulations, I am sure they vary from country to country and by exchange, so your best bet may be researching some of the specific exchanges such as this:
