ExxonMobil trading assessment centre

Hi,

I have an assessment centre coming up very soon for ExxonMobil. Just wondering if any of you guys have insight into what it will entail? I know what the average assessment centre entails, but I am wondering if anyone has specifics to Exxon.

I have heard there is a trading game- does anyone know any details about this game?

thanks in advance

Based on the most helpful WSO content, while there isn't a direct breakdown of ExxonMobil's trading assessment center specifics, trading games in assessment centers generally follow a similar structure. Here's what you should keep in mind:

  1. Trading Game Dynamics:

    • Typically done in groups with multiple turns.
    • Each turn involves making a market where others buy/sell from you.
    • New information is revealed each turn, allowing you to adjust your positions and pricing.
  2. Key Tips for Success:

    • Always ensure your group knows your exact positions and PnL (Profit and Loss). This is crucial as you may be asked about it later.
    • If your group isn't organized, take the initiative to track positions and PnL yourself, even if it means less interaction in the market-making process.
    • Winning or losing the game isn't the focus; demonstrating the right approach and decision-making is what matters.
