So I am about to start my internship in the forex department in an emerging market (with a large, european bank).
I will be following various traders for the first two weeks after which I will get to pick a mentor and work on a project relating to his/her pair. The head of the department even told me that I can design my own project.
I would like to get as much as possible out of this internship and I would love to gain a deep insight into the industry. Are there any tasks or projects which could make this happen?

Why don't you ask this question again after your first two weeks? It is likely to be more productive like that...
