Formula payout on sell-side, still exists?

Trader at sell-side desk. Work wise, 80% on flow, 20% on prop.
Supposed that I've exceeded expectations on the flow business. Above budget, managers happy. What is your opinion that I ask for a formula payout on my prop book?
I understand that such pay schemes only existed 10 years ago. I want to convinced my manager that the alpha from the prop can help the flow and I won't sacrifice work quality on the flow. I'm thinking I get to keep 3% to 5% of prop PnL. So I get 30-50k bonus on a 1mio PnL from prop.
