How hard is it to get a job at the NY or Chicago Merc
I just graduated with a degree in accounting, but think it would be nice to work as a trader on the Merc. How do I go about doing this?
You usually need to know someone....a brother, uncle, frat buddy, etc.
Most of the pits are being automated so there is not much opportunity out there. Even harder if you’re not from Chicago.
For Pit trading there isn't much except for options. CBOT has a bunch of small firms that may be of some interest to you.
