JPM online brokerage
Does JPM own any type of online brokerage for the average joe - for example if I wanted to just buy a few shares of one or two stocks. If not do they own a company that does?

LOL -- for real? 1. JPM Brokerage services 2. They own a company called "Chase"
but seriously, just use a discount broker.. capitalone, robinhood, zackstrade are really cheap
I actually was able to make it as far as the Chase leap, but I can see why that was funny. I wasn't able to find anything through either that didn't require at least a g and I just wanted to look around. Realized I could do that on my USAA account without a minimum so I'll just do that until I learn a bit more. There's that saying 'there's no stupid questions.' While there definitely are which is why I like to ask them in the privacy of online forums haha.
TD Ameritrade is your best bet. Open an IRA account (free) and it comes with free realtime market data. Then if you want you can also open a regular account (if you want to withdraw the money before retirement), link the accounts withing TD, and then the regular account gets access to the free market data from the retirement account.
After opening the account, you can download their trading platform call ThinkorSwim (also free)...which i've found to be a very good retail trading platform. They also have a good mobile Trader app (again, free)
TD is not the cheapest discount broker...but one of the only to give free market data...which is perfect if you don't trade very often. $10/stock order $3.50/side for futures $20/options order i think
