Machine Learning course at Stanford

Monkeys,

A friend bought for me the course as a present. It seems a very good course from a great prof about machine learning, programming and AI.

I'd like to know if you guys think that I can put it on my CV. Is Coursera, fine, but yet also Stanford prof and resources

Cheers

What are you trying to get out of it? That course is insanely popular and a reasonable introductory treatment to the subject matter.

But if transitioning to data science or quant research is your end goal, you're better off setting up a github with interesting data analysis projects. I have read data science CVs and although Coursera isn't a bad thing, it is absolutely not sufficient.

I'm not willing to put in on my cv, though I will mention it on interviews (I guess). I'm just curious about ML and AI

My end goal is neither quant nor algo trading, is just something that I will study for the sake of knowing it.

I already know VBA and I'm learning Python but I'm far from being a quant or something like that :) I'm studying a degree that combines chemical engineering and quant finance, and want to end in commodities trading or macro trading/research

putting together a program of ai/machine learning courses (will take more than one course), and then using the knowledge to build some useful ai projects...would be akin to "self taught machine learning in Python with TensorFlow" and is indeed something you could put on a resume, and would impress certain people (not everybody, but some).
