Non Target School S&T Internship

I am currently an undergrad student at a non-target school looking for some advice on how to land internships in S&T/PE/HF/IB. I am currently a freshman with a 3.8 GPA, taking an online 'Invest Like the Street' course, running my own investment blog, and looking for local wealth management internships for the summer. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Based in Canada, goes to a STEM university that is not typically a full target school for finance (quickly growing tho).

You have a strong academic background and interest in finance on paper; so really networking is THE most important thing to successfully land an internship. It would help a lot when someone pushes for your app. Try to reach people through different channels if there isn't a lot of OCR at your school (networking sessions, through friends, etc.) to get one-on-one time, even if they are not an alum.
