Quoting and Purging

I'm trying to understand trader behavior a little better in terms of what orders they submit and why. Also interested in knowing how many bids and asks you put in, how many get transacted, how many you cancel, and why.

If you can follow the below format in sharing your answer, that'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

1) What do you trade? (Equity, options, futures, etc...?)

2)What role do you play as a trader? (Are you a prop trader, institutional, market maker?)

3) What portion of your orders are you expecting (or want) to see transactions and what portion you're expecting to cancel?

4) Is the answer to 3) more because you're trying to adapt to the state of the market? 

5) Would you prefer if more/less of your orders get transacted?
