This is really asset class sensitive, as if we are talking about EQD you have a totally different league than FIC. And the more you go down in the hierarchy of the asset class (eg exotic vs cash in equities or rates vs structured credit under FIC or even fx spot vs fx vol) the more it gets very bank based Also, in sales (and not sales trading and trading) terms I think is even harder as what influences a lot a good sales man is his team, client base (you serve insitutionals? just HF? private banks? corporates?) and region (UK? DACH? Benelux?)
