Struggling with Networking

I’m an incoming S&T Grad at a BB aiming for top macro desks such as STIRT and DM rates etc. The grad program is rotational and networking is extremely important to get the desk you want, but it’s proving very difficult. Some people got a way in by getting a senior person they spoke to on the internship to show them around again but I am struggling because I can’t find that kind of mentor as my manager left to a HF. I am cold messaging and getting aired almost every message and I am not getting added back when I request. Is there another way to go about this?
