Toxic team culture on Desk
Current junior on a MM Sales desk. The culture has deteriorated sharply since a senior manager left, condescending speech, blame, and unrealistic workloads have become routine. Other desks have started noticing, and even traders have pulled me aside check-in on me.
I’m having to learn a lot independently, but the atmosphere is wearing me down. I’ve started to wonder whether it’s better to stay quiet and build experience, or start planning a move (either internally towards other teams or externally to another firm).
Has anyone been through something similar early in their career? How did you handle a toxic team dynamic without torching relationships or your reputation?
Appreciate any perspective.
