Trading / Buy-side with Finance and Accounting degree

Hello everyone,

I got recently admitted to the Master in Finance and Accounting at Imperial College London. I applied for a different degree there that suits better to my career aspirations in trading and asset management, but they put me into the one with a focus on accounting and corporate finance. I feel like they did not read my essays at all, because virtually every paragraph included some reference about me wanting to work in capital markets. I dont want to do Consulting or IB. I reached out to them multiple times, explaining my situation, but they are not willing to put me into another degree.

Although I dont have a particular dream job, I am certain about working on the buy-side at some asset manager. I also applied to LSE, St. Gallen, HEC, and Bocconi, but will only receive a response from those after the deadline until which I can accept the conditional offer from Imperial. I feel like these other degrees suit better towards what I want to do, but the big perk of Imperial is that I am already in London, the place where I want to work after graduation.

What should I do in my situation? Should I take the degree, focus on the electives, and still try to go down the asset management route? Or should I rather deny the offer, gamble to get accepted at any of the other unis, and then try to land a job in London that way?

Would love your input.
