Trading Firms in the Deep South

Went to an SEC school and now working for MS as a Trading Assistant up north. Does anyone know of any firms with a trading desk down south worth looking into? Raymond James in Memphis for example.

A lot of the ag companies have ops in the deep south. I know a guy that worked for Gavilon in Vicksburg and a lot of companies also have New Orleans operations. Check out pretty much and ag company and see what they have in the area. That will probably be your best bet. If you want, PM me and I can get you in contact with my buddy who is in ag in Mississippi.

Companies like Genscape (energy research) have offices in Kentucky, Southern in Georgia/Alabama, and Delek in Tennessee come to mind as well. They aren't really trade shops like you are thinking but they offer exposure to comdty's that could help you make the transition. Then of course there is Houston which is the energy trading capital of the US if you wanted to try to get to Texas. That is probably going to be more difficult to break into than ag in the south though.
