Big 4 TS --> VC
Long time lurker on the forum, now at a crossroads and would like some advice.
Background: London Big 4 TS (financial due dil) analyst who is currently still in a training contract.
I have been offered a role at a small VC fund (15 employees) which invests in early stage med tech; fairly specialist. The job description involves portfolio analysis, internal/external reporting to LPs and then some deal origination. Essentially a bit of everything, but the team is very entrepreneurial and there is definitely scope for a stretch role.
1) Would it be a mistake to leave my Big 4 training contract now before becoming ACA qualified?
2) Salary is mid 40s + bonus which represents a chunky payrise, I'm assuming this is in line with industry standards, IB analyst salary etc?
3) Obviously for many of us, PE/VC is the dream move. However is moving at this stage to a small VC firm potentially going to hinder future prospects?
I don't want to give away too much information so I hope armed with the above, you guys could give some advice. Particularly if you have made a similar move yourself.
