Where do all the people that churn out of HFs go?

Everyone on here says that HF tenure is very short (1-2 yrs avg in some cases) and that if you're at a MM, when your pod gets cut or you are individually fired you just go to another MM. But after scouring LinkedIn, I don't really see many people going from Citadel to P72 or something along those lines.

Where do people who flunk out of HFs go? Both for SMs and MMs. Asking because I'm in a position to head straight to a HF out of undergrad but am worried about what might happen if the fund blows up or I get let go early on.

Usually some research role or pe. Know a few people who went back to school to pivot to something stem related.
