Barclays Wealth and Investment Management
Is the Barclays Wealth and IM graduate scheme a private banker scheme or is can it be something actually related to investment management (e.g., structuring portfolios, research, etc.)?
most of the private banking groups are moving to models where theres someone involved in the portfolio asset allocation and product strategy side of things -- these are my ideal roles personally
If this is in the US, this is the old Lehman Brothers Private Investment Management division, which is comprised of high net worth salespeople. It's really not a private bank, but more like a high end Merrill Lynch. You're not really managing money like they do at Neuberger Berman (to name the places that were under the Lehman umbrella), you sell products that someone else manages.
If it's London or elsewhere, it's all Barclays people and different and I don't know much about it.
