Can a Mortgage Advisor transition to Wealth Management

Currently working as a Mortgage Advisor, doing well so far bringing in the business. I wanted to make the leap to Wealth Management in two years time. Wanted to know if this was possible for a MA to do that.

I'm sure it is, assuming you currently work at a bank. I'd imagine the larger the bank, the easier it is. I would be advised though, that wealth management if you work for a bigger player is very different than being a mortgage advisor. I interned in WM and not alot of people make it through the training programs because not everyone is a potential client. In WM, you can only deal with people that have over X in assets (excluding primary residence), while as a mortgage advisor bringing in business for you is finding someone with a decent salary and solid credit score who wants to buy a home. (oversimplifying but I'm sure you get the point) That said, It's definitely doable. Getting past a WM interview is basically just explaining how you'll prospect for business.
