GS PWM phone call

Started cold-calling and cold-emailing about a month or two ago and got into contact with an alum from my school. Will be going on a phone call with him later this week but not sure what to really focus the conversation on.. would love to intern there (if possible), but don't want to seem too pushy. What would be the best way to approach this call in trying to secure an interview for next year?

Demonstrate your interest in finance, specifically in wealth management and what he does for a living. If he sees that your passionate about entering the industry he might give you a hard look into maybe letting you intern. Maybe suggest that you are willing to shadow him for free if all else fails?

The reason he agreed to speak with you is because he wanted to help in some way. Tell him your goals and show him your willingness to learn and maybe he will give you a look.
