How difficult will it be for me to move from a PWM internship into M&A or Equity Research?

I'm a Junior at a semi-target school and I was just offered an summer internship position at a (small-ish?) Private Wealth Management firm which I just accepted. Compensation is $15/hour and I will be working with/for several analysts and the CIO within both Research and Portfolio Management. The firm manages around $12bn and I'm very excited to start even if the majority of it is photocopying things and office work.

This is my first banking internship and understand that Freshman/Sophomores typically work within PWM, so my question is how difficult will it be to use this experience to get into a BB or a more prestigious Boutique down the line? Additionally, what should I do to make the most of this opportunity and how should I prepare?
