How to get PWM internship as a freshman

I've heard about unexperienced freshman getting PWM at BB banks like Merril Lynch or UBS. However, I've been looking about the internship postings recently and it seems like Merril Lynch PWM internships are only for juniors/seniors and not for freshman. How were people able to get these internships when they seem to be reserved for upperclassmen?

Also, I'm going to try to network with people at BB PWM and boutique IBs over the school year and I've seen a lot of tips about how to do so but not really anything about who to start networking. I don't want to be that annoying freshman that bothers someone that's too busy or important. Thanks for the help!
