IBD/Financial Advisory/ Consulting--HYP Engineering--GPA /Experience Question

Hi,
I am a rising Junior in HYP Engineering school. I had hard time finding an internship this summer and I was lucky enough to find a research position at a fairly big consulting firm at the very end of the spring semester. I plan to go to Grad School at some point in my life, but I have career-wise general question. I am interested in both finance and consulting. I am interning at a consulting firm and I like it. This internship experience is my first major internship experience so I don't want to think that consulting is my area.

1) I barely had interview offers when I was searching internship. I did bring up my GPA little bit this semester but how does 3.41 look like for an engineering student in HYP? I am a treasurer in two clubs right now, but I haven't had major leadership experience much. Will I have better shot in finance or consulting internship next year? Will I even get some interview offers next year?

2) I am interested in financial advisory, like BlackRock's Financial Market Advisory because I think it's a good combination of both of my interests. Does anyone have experience in this? How was your experience? Any advice for someone who is still not too sure of his or her interest? Any tips for future internship hunting season?

Thanks for your help!
