Path for private wealth/investment management?

Basically I would eventually like to work at something like a private wealth/investment management firm or an investment fund focusing on managing and researching investments. I am currently a freshman in college and was wondering what I should focus on and what internships I should be looking for my summer after sophomore year and then on. I am interning this summer at a sort of medtech incubator business projections type internship, not directly finance related but I figured it was better than nothing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
