PWM or Risk Management
Friend trying to decide on offers; wanted IBD but couldn't get it (on-campus recruiting opportunities still scarce).
Which one would be more respected and afford the opportunity to eventually get into IB (either networking/lateralling into ibanking after a few years or getting into top MBA program and transitioning to banking after that)? He is leaning towards PWM because it is a FO role, but imo Risk would be more respected due to the quantitative aspect of it. He is in a competitive Masters of Finance program.
bump
because im wondering the same thing but not for pwm but the rotational products program in the wealth mgmt dept vs risk
Have only heard of Risk Mgmt people moving towards IBD, never PWM back. Usually once you start PWM, you are stuck in it.
