I'm a PWM associate for.a BB on the east coast, used to be an analyst at another BB on the west coast.
GS/JPM/MS are all in their own league, UBS is one step below them and then no one else is even in the same ballpark.
GS model is very focused on getting you to be an advisor when you start as an analyst. After 3 years it's up or out. Only a few stay behind for the FIP/BDP roles.
The others I all believe are a bit more open architecture and more people go from being an analyst to finding long term roles besides being an advisor, I don't think the clock ticks as fast on new analysts there.
