PWM VS. IBD Analyst Salary & Exit Options at GS
Are there differences in salary between PWM and IBD analyst positions? I know that people give PWM a lot of sh*t, but is it really justified?

The main difference is in skill set acquired, and thus, exit opps. On an hourly adjusted basis, the might be close, PWM might even make more. But salary at the Analyst level isn't important to most people anyway. Your lifetime earnings potential as an IB analyst is much higher.
If you're talking about exit options, one of the popular exits that GS PWM guys attempt is GS IBD.
A successful wealth manager or private banker can easily outearn a senior banker, but there is a much higher rate of failure in PWM as it is essentially a sales role.
